Fundraiser for rotten kidneys!
June 11, 2007 | Posted by Jen | Leave a Comment
I have an auction going on at Indie Fixx, one of my other blogs, to raise money for the Elijah Wyman Kidney Fund. Elijah is the husband of Rhonda, the super talented creator of the jewelry line Figs and Ginger. Elijah is talented in his own right, he is a musician and has his own indie shop Eli & Ra. But Elijah has rotten kidneys and is getting a transplant this summer, which is good, but the Wymans’s are going to have to bear a lot of the costs themselves, which is not so good.
How can you help?
1. Donate money to the Elijah Wyman Kidney Fund. I’ve already donated some money, so come on, you should too.
2. Help spread the word. Here’s some links to a couple of really funny videos made by Elijah’s friends to help get the word out.
3. I’m offering this necklace, made by me, to the highest bidder and I will donate 100% of the proceeds to the Elijah Wyman Kidney Fund. To enter, just comment with your bid on this post on my blog Indie Fixx and make sure to include your email, which will not be visible to the public.
The auction will end at 11am EST, June 12th. I will contact the winner by the end of the day and send a Paypal invoice for the amount of your bid.

Wall mural

I’m thinking of painting a mural in my office…I’ve never done anything like that before, but I figure how hard can it be. I would like to do a very simple abstract hibiscus design, like these. I also found some very straightforward instructions. It kinda seems almost too easy–I will probably knock over the paint onto the rug or something.

Posh pillows

Super easy pillow craft idea from Shari of Bonnin Designs. She came up with the idea of using a two-sided placement a quick sew way to make your own decorative toss pillows. I love a good a good shortcut and I just may use this one as my homemade holiday gifts.

Patterns and Fabric for All!
June 4, 2007 | Posted by Jen | 1 Comment
I discovered Purl Soho in this month’s issue of ReadyMade and I’ve believe I have a new obsession…looking at fabrics for projects that I will never have time to start let alone complete. My latest plan is to get the One For All Shoulder Bag Pattern from Betsy Ross and this adorable fabric from Purl Soho. I’ll let you know if it happens.
